Administration and data
The Administration area contains the controls that shape the whole MiniPAM workspace.
Sites and device types
Sites scope inventory and discovery to a real location or operational boundary. Device types are reusable classifications for servers, network equipment, IoT, media devices, and other assets. A type can include category, subtype, manufacturer, and image choices; built-in non-editable types remain protected.
Users, roles, and API keys
MiniPAM uses local users and session authentication. After the initial root-user bootstrap, authorized administrators can create and update users, assign permission roles, enable or disable access, and manage credentials. API keys belong to users and are shown when created, so store new key material immediately and revoke unused keys.
Import and export
Data transfer exports the current inventory as JSON or XLSX. Imports accept those formats and always begin with a preview. Review validation errors and the proposed creates, updates, and unchanged records before applying the plan.
Treat exports as sensitive: they can contain topology, addressing, names, and operational metadata. An export is useful for transfer and inspection, but it is not a substitute for a consistent backup of the SQLite database.
Database usage
Database usage reports the SQLite file size, free pages, page allocation, table row counts, and estimated table/index storage. Use it to spot unexpected growth and decide when retention or backup practices need attention. The same report is available from the server CLI.
Search, filters, and tags
Inventory directories combine text search with schema-backed structured filters. Filters can target fields such as status or resource type, and the API supplies autocomplete values. Tags provide key/value classification across supported collections without changing the core model.
